Environmental policy and management programs involve principles of environmental sustainability and change, combined with core sciences, ethics and technology courses. The Environmental Policy and Management Program combines a background in scientific preparation with training in diverse social science, management, and professional disciplines. A focus of this program will be interdisciplinary training on the roles of science that is directly relevant to real-world environmental policy and management issues. The program is designed so students have a more formal preparation in bridging the differences between scientific academic background and policy and Graduate Program of Environmental Policy and Management. The Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management (EPM) program, affiliated with the John Muir Institute of the Environment, provides advanced training in applying environmental science to real-world environmental policy and management issues.
